Flared Up and Fired to the Floor
The Venturian

Mike and Larry began working on a '56 Chevrolet for Bobby Massaron. The Venturian was known for its one-of-a-kind build with design inspiration that drew from several cars. Bobby hired the brothers as a teenager and paid for the customization with high school graduation money. Once he could no longer fund the project, he traded work in the shop for the remaining cost of the project. Though the Venturian was unlike any other custom, its striking craftsmanship was appreciated by the judges at the 1966 Detroit Autorama where it earned the brothers their second Ridler award.
